Reiki for Pain and Physical Illness

Reiki can enhance healing in a wide variety of physical conditions, including insomnia, chronic pain, digestive issues, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, inflammatory illness, blood pressure imbalances, cancer, and viral susceptibility, as well as providing support during emergency situations and long-term physical therapy.

How does this work? While no one has identified the precise mechanism that causes Reiki to be effective across such a wide range of conditions, what we do know is this: Reiki supports the body’s natural rebalancing capacity. Quoting Reiki master practitioner and researcher Pamela Miles: “As Reiki provides deep relaxation, the spiraling effects of stress begin to unravel. By improving breathing, sleep, and digestion, Reiki restores the functions that lead to recovery and wellness.”*

Reiki is an ideal complement to any mainstream or alternative medical treatment: it involves no physical manipulation, nor any drugs, creams, or other substances taken inwardly or applied outwardly. If pain or infectious disease make physical touch impractical, Reiki can even be done remotely, in the same room or at a greater distance.

After the introductory, 90-minute session, follow-up sessions may range from 30 to 60 minutes, and may be done in person or remotely.
